The problem we solve

2.4 million Chileans can’t wait

Chile has a health system that works. The problem is it can’t keep up. The waiting list isn’t a bug: it’s a systemic gap AI can start closing today.

The line that never stops

2.4 million people wait for an appointment, a procedure or a surgery. Some have waited over two years. — Minsal 2024

Aging accelerates demand

By 2035, 20% of the population will be over 60. The health system isn’t sized for that. — INE 2024

Prevention is underfunded

Most of the budget goes to emergency care. Early screening and chronic detection remain aspirational. — Minsal 2023

AI can extend clinical reach

Not to replace the professional, but so a doctor, a midwife or a physiotherapist can reach 10x more people without losing quality.

Chile has hospitals, specialists and regulation. What it lacks is the last mile — so longevity stops being a privilege and reaches the 2.4 million waiting today.
The challenge

One challenge. Three tracks.

Every team competes in the same challenge — Longevity for everyone in Chile — choosing one of three tracks based on where they want to act.

Track 01

Prevention

How do we keep people from ever entering the waiting list?

Smart screening, early detection, health literacy and chronic self-care. The quiet work that prevents the emergency.

Prevent the emergency
What you could build
  • Screening agent that refers before it’s urgent
  • Self-care for type 2 diabetics
  • Preventive health for older adults at home
Available public data

Anonymized health data

Track 02

Decompression

2.4 million are waiting. How do we get people out of the line?

Clinical triage by real risk, matching demand and capacity, and longitudinal support for patients on the list.

Get people out of the line
What you could build
  • Triage that prioritizes by real clinical risk
  • Match patients with available slots
  • Support during long waits
Track 03

Continuity & Precision Medicine

The patient was treated. Now what?

Chronic follow-up, precision medicine and autonomy in aging. The post-care work that today has no system.

After the care
What you could build
  • Post-surgery follow-up with early alerts
  • Precision medicine for chronic patients
  • Autonomy for older adults with mild dependency
How do you take part?

Three profiles. One team.

The Lab requires mixed teams. You need at least one health professional and one developer/AI expert.

AI Builder

You build it with code

Developers with Python, JS, APIs, Agent SDK and MCP. You build the agent backend and integrate health data.

  • Python / JavaScript
  • Agent SDK + MCP
  • Data integration

Health Professional

You know the real problem

Doctors, nursing, physiotherapy, clinical management, public health. Mandatory minimum: every team needs a health profile.

  • Clinical judgment
  • Problem validation
  • Patient connection

Vibecoder

You build without stack limits

Creators with Claude Code, Cursor, v0 or no-code. User experience is your field.

  • Claude Code / Cursor / v0
  • No-code
  • UX and fast prototyping

Teams of 2 to 4. You register individually and form a team in the portal; the team leader submits it for approval.

SOLOpreneur
You don’t need to win for it to be worth coming.

The goal: ~200 on-site builders in ~50 teams, approved by the committee.

How to get to the Lab

The path to August 5-6

Registration opens Monday, July 13 for all of Chile. First you register as an individual, form your team in the portal, and the team leader submits it for committee approval. These are the stages.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a health professional to take part?
No, but your team does: at least one of the 2-4 members must have a clinical profile. If you register solo, the portal helps you form a team.
What technical experience do I need?
It depends on your profile. AI Builders handle Python or JS and APIs; Vibecoders build with Claude Code, Cursor or v0; health professionals need no code.
What health data can I use?
Only anonymized and aggregated data, curated public sources or synthetic prospecting. Using patient PII or re-identifying datasets is prohibited. The Lab provides safe data.
Can I use another LLM besides Claude?
Claude must be the main engine of your solution. Using another LLM as the base is grounds for disqualification. You may use other support tools.
Does my solution have to diagnose diseases?
No, and in fact it can’t. Solutions assist and extend the reach of the health professional; they don’t provide autonomous diagnosis or medical indication.
What about intellectual property?
Your team keeps the IP. If your prototype interests Caja La Araucana, any adoption agreement is negotiated directly with your team.
Can I bring a pre-built prototype?
No. Code that counts for evaluation must be built within the valid window. The technical engine checks timestamps.
Where do I ask questions during the event?
Bendi, the Lab’s AI agent, is available 24/7 on the platform. For formal matters: benditos@benditaia.cl.
